Sound & Windows 11 issue

I have an All in One HP PC which runs Windows 11.

I restored the PC back to factory settings a month ago.

I’ve been having an issue with Windows start up sound not playing properly - it works fine and then stops the next time. I’ve run DISM and everything comes back fine. I’m not too concerned about that, I’ve just switched off the start up sound.

The most pressing issue is that recently on Zoom whenever I get a notification on Windows 11 for an e-mail, for example, the audio on Zoom completely cuts out. I change the speaker input and it works fine again, even if another notification is received.

I’ve done an audio diagnostic on Windows and it says everything is fine.

What should I do now? Should I assume this is a Zoom problem?

In the interim I have set notifications to do not disturb when Zoom is in full screen mode. Would you guys just continue with this moving forwards?

How did you factory reset the PC? Via HP's solution, or the built in Windows recovery? I'm not sure with OEM PCs but the Windows method may have installed a blank Windows image with no drivers, and relying on Windows update to find them. This can sometimes end up using the default audio driver which doesn't properly match the OEM audio hardware.

I would try find your PC's model number and go on HP's support site to find the correct audio driver.

Okay, thanks for your help.
