Hi there,

Just reinstalled windows on my new rig

The mobo is a DFI LANPARTY DK P35-T2RS mobo

I just cannot get the sound to work, currently the sound I have installed is:-

Realtek Semiconductor Corp.
6.0.1.5413
10/05/2007

I have my speakers plugged into the green sock on the mobo and no matter what I do there is just no sound. Sound is not disabled in the BIOS either...

When I play a audio file I can see the sound levels on the speaker icon near the clock in windows going up and down like its detecting an input but there is no output whatsover. So i tried plugging my speakers into every socket on the soundcard and still nothing...

How can I get this to work?

Please help

Cheers

yes indeedy, I tried this also and failed to recieve any sound....

the weird thing is that the green up in sound options go up and down showing its recieving a signal but there is just no output...

I am running win vista 32bit

my hifi is just not receiving any signal from the sound card whatsoever...

I guess I need a PCIE sound card to confirm all is working...

nope..

but it is defaulting to use realtek high definition audio codec and this is blocking the speakers from being detected. the realtek high definition software is refusing to detect my speakers, so I think I just need a real tek driver only without the software but cannot find it anywhere...

I know this because I updated to the latest driver and never restarted my system this made the sound work because it detected my speakers. after restarting the system I noticed the realtek software greyed out my speakers not letting me choose them and just defaulted to high defination codec which is causing the problem...

is the realtek driver available on its own with the whole high def software/

please help
