Hey guys,

I recently bought this motherboard:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-393-GI&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=2261

installed up and running etc, but my speakers are not working

the speakers I have are:

http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/support/208

I did install everything that came with the motherboard disc, my headset is working perfectly fine, but not the speakers....everything seems to be plugged in as it always was, and my original motherboard was only 20 quid!

any help to get this up and running?

thanks

Did you set the default sound devices? cause if you headset is in and you havent told it to output two different steams then only your headset will work. click on your on board audio and find the setting for jack detection and change it to output to different streams when headset is plugged in and then go into windows sounds section and set your speakers as default sound device hope this helps.

Also what speaker set up are you using?

Sorry im not very technical minded but I look at my sound devices and two are listed:

Speakers (which is oddly my headset that is working and default device)
SPDIF-Out - not sure what this is but doesnt work when I test the device..

Unless ive connected something incorrectly on the motherboard???

I did have a problem connecting the case wires onto the little pins on the motherboard for the switch on button, maybe there was one for the sound that ive put on the wrong slot??

Click your realtek audio icon (normally an orange cone down in the right tool bar) find the advance settings on my real tek it in the top right conrer and click the selection that says

Make front and rear playback two different audio streams.

And for windows click start > control panel > hardware and sound > click sound and you will see all your devices click speakers (realtek high definition ) click the box that says set default and your done.

This will mean you can get skype or some other programme through the headset while still having sound of games/music coming from your main speakers. If you think you havent connected it wright turn off the comp and look inside .

You should have a small black square connector from the cases front panel saying either realtek or HD audio connected to the audio port on the bottom left corner of the actual mother board you can see which one it is as it has audio written in it. hope you get your sounds working soon i couldnt be without my tunes. :)

Re

Sound is a mechanical wave that is an oscillation of pressure transmitted through some medium, composed of frequencies within the range of hearing. Sound is a sequence of waves of pressure that propagates through compressible media such as air or water. Sound that is perceptible by humans has frequencies from about 20 HZ to 20,000 HZ.
