soundbar advice pls help!

Hi,
I have a LG 42LF580V smart tv in the sitting room. The pq is really good,but the sound is rubbish very tinny sound.

I found this soundbar

Will a sound bar help the sound?

Can you use a sound bar for watching the news?

Another-question-how does a soundbar plug into the tv?

I know nothing about soundbars -pls help

a) You don't need to buy matching brand soundbar, any will work
b) Yes, massively upgrade sound. Always disable the TV's own speakers, you don't want the soundbar + TV speakers to be on at the same time
c) Can use it for everything
d) Typically HDMI - HDMI, or optical-optical.

Basically you just plonk it below your TV, connect HDMI or optical cable, turn down TV speakers, and switch on the soundbar. Pretty simple.

Soundbars are fine upgrades, but if you are considering a full home cinema system, then think if you want to stick with a soundbar, or get a AV amp and speakers. Because once you have a soundbar, you can't upgrade, and typically have limited input/output connections.
