Soundbar eArc

I have an LG C1 TV that has an eArc HDMI port.

I recently purchased a Samsung Q930D soundbar , along with a eArc (HDMI 2.1 cable) and connected it to my TV.

It works amazingly well, but there is one question that I have: The TV sound automatically changed to the soundbar, but the volume up/down on the TV no longer shows the actual sound level (i.e. 1 to 100) - it just shows + / -. Is this expected?

For the record, I can see that the soundbar remote has a separate volume control that controls the volume on the actual soundbar itself.

Same with my b9 oled ( except with a denon avr which seemingly randomly one in 100 times does display some weird green UI to show the volume :D )

Thanks for confirming!

I can see now when I use the TV remote volume, that the numbers on the soundbar go up/down. So, it looks like everything is correct!
Yep, it's one of the reasons I'm glad Samsung still provide a display on their soundbars (even if it is absolutely tiny), the new LG ones don't.

Having just recently upgraded my set-up with a new LG TV and Samsung soundbar I had hoped that perhaps they'd have found a common ground to display soundbar info on the TV, but alas.

The annoying thing with the LG soundbars is that that screen is always on.

I don’t care it’s on eARC, let me enjoy the nice dark blacks of my OLED without that in the centre of my vision!

Going back on topic, can confirm my LG displayed numbers for volume on my LG soundbar but it does not for the Samsung soundbar I have now
