Soundbar eArc

I have an LG C1 TV that has an eArc HDMI port.

I recently purchased a Samsung Q930D soundbar , along with a eArc (HDMI 2.1 cable) and connected it to my TV.

It works amazingly well, but there is one question that I have: The TV sound automatically changed to the soundbar, but the volume up/down on the TV no longer shows the actual sound level (i.e. 1 to 100) - it just shows + / -. Is this expected?

For the record, I can see that the soundbar remote has a separate volume control that controls the volume on the actual soundbar itself.

Yes that's normal. If it was an LG soundbar (or a Samsung TV) you'd get the volume number displayed on screen.

Same with my b9 oled ( except with a denon avr which seemingly randomly one in 100 times does display some weird green UI to show the volume )

My LG TV behaves the same, volume indication on the screen is just +/- whilst the LG soundbar displays a number

I can see now when I use the TV remote volume, that the numbers on the soundbar go up/down. So, it looks like everything is correct!

Yep, it's one of the reasons I'm glad Samsung still provide a display on their soundbars (even if it is absolutely tiny), the new LG ones don't.

Having just recently upgraded my set-up with a new LG TV and Samsung soundbar I had hoped that perhaps they'd have found a common ground to display soundbar info on the TV, but alas.
