Soundbar on TV Mount

Hi

Does attaching a soundbar under the TV, to an articulated TV Vesa mount impact negatively on the sound? My plan is to have it like this as the TV will be stowed in an alcove when not in use.

Do other people have this setup? Is it highly preferable to have a soundbar sat on a solid surface like a TV cabinet?

Will be fine but will be slightly less bassy.
