Soundbar recommendations

My LG soundbar died on me last night, the optical input connector snapped right off. I suppose it could be fixed but I feel an upgrade was in the works.

My setup is a Benq projector hooked up to my laptop to play movies through, the laptop has spdif output so I will be connecting it to the sound bar optical input, I wont be using any HDMI ports on the soundbar.

My LG was a NB3730A, I was happy with the sound so something along those lines. I like the Sony HT-RT5 but will it give me decent sound using just the optical in?

Any suggestions? Cheers

Got the Sony HT-RT5. Brilliant sound, wireless speakers make it a doddle to setup.

Yamaha YSP 1400

If your going to get the HT-RT5 you may as well get an AVR and a 5.1 setup.

Bought one for my Mum for Christmas and it's excellent. The subs in the feet do a fantastic job of filling in the lower end. I'm very impressed with it.

Returned the Sony HT-RT5, low volume through HDMI, a common problem, no response from Sony. Basically it's a cheap soundbar with 2 wireless speakers.

Got a AVR and speakers from RS.
