found a soundblaster live 5.1 card when i was rummaging around in the boxes i have.

was wondering if this sound card is better than the onboard sound i have on my asrock board, it uses realtek i believe. here is the board in question: http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=939Dual-SATA2&s=n

any advantage to using the sounblaster live 5.1 over onboard audio? or should i just leave things as they are?

also got to take into account i got vista 64bit do don;t even know if the soundblaster live 5.1 is supported under vista 64bit.

why dont u stick it in and find out ? seriously its like a 30 second job :D

how would you go about disabling the live without either

removing it

deleting the drivers

thanks

need to remove mine and enable onboard auzalia codec to troubleshoot...

decided to just stick with onboard audio. the live 5.1 is probably 10 years old and newer onboard solutions are probably better. also creatives drivers are crap so not really worth shafting a pc that works fine.

Soundblaster Live 5.1 is about 2000/2001, it still has great sound for playing Music, IMO better than all new Creatives, I aint been as happy with other cards.
