Soundblaster Live 5.1

I think I need up-to-date drivers for my soundcard (as I'm experiencing game freezes with sound loops) - but the last drivers I can see on the Creative site are 5 Jan 04. Is that right? Aren't they a little old?

Any suggestions as to what I can do?

Freezing with looping sound could also be an overheating video card, for example.

Really? Do you think so?

I've just bought Tomb Raider Legend and am running it with a 9800 Pro (256Mb). I know they're quite old by todays standards but is it really not coping?...

I actually had a very similar issue with X³ Reunion - a freeze with a soundloop - so I'm reluctantly accepting it's the old 9800 just can't cope with modern games.

I've got a very stable system (in 2D) so I'm reluctant to change the card/upgrade. I also tried the latest Cats (6.3) form guru3d.com but I couldn't get DirectDraw to function.

Expensive times ahead...
