Hiya guys,
Not a happy bunny at the minute- Picked up a Soundblaster Live Value for just under a fiver, no probs there.
All I want to do with this card is to run a pair of desktop speakers & a mic in both Windows & Linux, which is why I picked this up (Integrated Realtek doesn't work in Linux)
Trouble is though, the mic volume levels are total junk- Even with the volume level on max, I still have to stick the mic into my mouth to be able to do anything, and I seem to be getting large amounts of junk on the recieving end.
Google tells me this is a known problem with these cards, but provides no solution other than a non-existant volume booster in the Creative audio control panel

Is it worth coughing up for an Audigy SE (The Audigy 2 which it is based on seems to have the same issues coming up in the Dell forums) or what?
