Quite simple really,

Soundblaster X-FI Extreme Music
Was working fine then the Sennheisers went quiet and now I have no sound. Windows sees the card and when media player is doing its thing the sound bars etc move but still no sound.

Any suggestions please, card is about 3 months old if that from the bay :(

Could this be driver related (Have reinstalled the drivers but I know that the EAX cant be a proper pita.

Thanks In Advance :)

Whats the rest of your spec? I used to have this when i had an old nforce4 motherboard, it was fixed with a bios update.

What OS are you on?

Rest of Spec as follows Mate:

Intel Q6600 @ 3.0ghz
Abit IP35 Pro Motherboard - Bios has been updated as well
nVidia Geforce 8800 GTX 768
OCZ Reaper 4gb (2x2gb)
Very Good PSU 1000watt
Running Windows Vista Ultimate w/sp1

try resetting the 'mode' in the drivers.
try removing drivers and installing newest ones.
is it on mute? (or low volume in windows)
is the cable plugged in?
can you test with other speakers?

K Thanks Guys,

Will stick it back in and give it a go. Gutted it went down but would be great if its something silly like you have both mentioned.

Back shortly to report :)

happens to me if it moves in the pci slot when power is on a reseating in the slot fixes it.

Yer I am thinking I could make it fit slightly better in the case as I get crackling and a white noise if I move the card even slightly. Just cleaned my case out as well so may make this my next job. Bloody cards lol
