Hi

Im looking at a soundcard for my new rig (shown in my sig) I currently have the E6600 running at 3.2ghz per core and my GTX on stock but I have been told that a decent sound card can add a bit of performance to my machine whilst ensuring the highest quality sound, any recommendations?

Thanks
Mike

Put it this way, my friend spending £30 on a soundcard gained about 5fps at best in CS:S with a 3800+X2, 2GB GeiL value RAM and a 6800GS.

Regarding your machine, you will clearly notice a difference in sound quality only.

:)

Hi

Sorry I forgot to mention that my machine isnt just for gaming, its also being used mainly for my DJ work and is getting heavy music work and video dj'ing work mainly live mixing of hd videos and large 30mb mp3's. The soundcard Im looking at will need to be able to connect to a DJ mixer which powers a 15,000w rms dj rig so quality IS important.

Price wise I dont really want to go over the £200 unless the card is worth it, idealy id like an internal hub for control eg 5.25" drive bay however an external one would be considered if the price was right.

Ideas?

Thanks
Mike

I was just using that as an example to illustrate that a sound card of any quality will do precious little to increase overall system performance. :)

I will now leave this to someone who actually knows something about soundcard specifications...

Have a look at the cards by M-Audio, I would think they do the card you are after.

The M-Audio delta 1010LT would be sufficient for what you're wanting to do. It's pretty popular aswell, I had the rack version although use Emu stuff now.

For audio M-Audio. For games Creative. I have 2 cards one for games the other other feeding to the amp.
