Ok, so I have currently have a 5 year old Logitech X-530 5.1 Speaker System connected to my mobo's onboard sound and I am in need of an upgrade as I need to turn the volume up quite high when watching movies with quiet dialogue which creates an annoying buzzing sound!

I am thinking of upgrading to an Asus Xonar DG soundcard and Corsair SP2200 speakers, as I don't really have the room for a 5.1 setup anymore and don't really need it.

Will I notice a big difference in quality with these? Also will I be able to turn movies up nice and loud without the buzzing noise?

Do you think this will be the best bang for buck upgrade I will be able to do for £100ish?

Hi,

The DG is a great card, but I would steer clear of the SP2200. I just bought a set and I get a high pitch wine from both speakers. I think it involves bad insulation of the power supply with the audio parts.

I would suggest Creative 2.1'S a3130'S?

i think in general Corsair products are brilliant, and I may have just got a bad batch of speakers, but...I will not risk it with those.

My Corsair HS1a's are brilliant though.

Cheers

Von
