Sounds muddy? That's Bananas!

Yet some will insist they can tell a clear difference because they are now running their cables through an earthing box filled with sand from the Gobi Desert.
Doesn’t surprise me in the slightest lol.

The date on the actual source is 2024, Tomshardware probably saw the story doing its occasional rounds or getting pushed by algo and reckoned they could pass it as content also.

It was linked here earlier this year, more amusing pieces are on this site: https://www.headphonesty.com/2026/01/audiophiles-fail-copper-banana-mud-blind-test/

Amusing if it doesn't challenge your beliefs in an uncomfortable way ofc.

Last time it popped up I got round to finding out that James Randi offered $1m for anyone that could prove exorbitant speaker cable was better than Monster cables in a double blind test.

I find anything using fanciful descriptors to avoid measurable claims for their product very bad taste.

Didn't bother to read the details on their setup but despite their simplicity in some ways opamps are crazy - for short distances you can even disconnect the input connection and still get a signal over the air.
