Soundsticks iii or Edifier Rt1800T

Need some new desktop speakers for gaming / music for around £100

I think I am down to these 2;

Harman/Kardon Soundsticks III 2.1 Channel Multimedia Sound System
Edifier Studio R1800T III 2.0 70W RMS Speakers

Opinions on the best ones to get?

I'd choose the Edifier's for music, but the SS III are pretty decent for music and are a lot better than a number of 2.1 speakers. Stereo will always be better though. For gaming, the SS III might be the more preferable choice, as the subwoofer will provide some heft to explosions, etc.

Depends which is more important to you I guess, music or gaming. How much bass you like when gaming, might also factor into your decision. Quite a few people are more than happy enough using stereo speakers when gaming, but there those who want the extra bass heft a subwoofer provides.

SS III, would be a good compromise though. If the choice were Edifier's or Logitech 2.1 speakers, then that would be a dilemma, as while Logitech speakers are fine for gaming, they are pretty mediocre when it comes to music.
