Just what i was thinking, whats a soup maker do that specifically makes it good for soup?

They're basically just a slow cooker and a blender combined aren't they?

I have a big saucepan. That way I can make more than one portion at a time!

Sounds okay for soup but pointless for anything else, much better with a slow cooker and a hand blender if that's the case.

Absolutely this, and you can probably buy the two for the price of one soup maker.

Just a faddy kitchen gadget that most likely will just sit on the counter for years, gathering dust.
