Source games are messed up?

Just wondering if this happens to anyone else, in any Source game, the game in question, in my case Synergy and TF2, become stuck at the main screen with the black box at the bottom right saying "Loading...". It doesn't load, and I can't seem to tab out of the game either, does this happen to anyone else and has anyone found a work-around?
