HI all,

its been a long time i have been here on the forum. Being busy for over a year at work. now my company sent me down to south africa for 4 days to johannesburg. as it was only for 4 days i thought i wont see much and so i just took my canon ixus 65 with me (2 days old). but customs in johannesburg decided i had to saty 2 weeks as they coulndt be bothered to release the 3 servers i shall install in johannesburg. so the guys in our johannesburg office show me around abit (been to the joburg zoo and to a lion park (incl. touching lion cubs)). And i WISHED i had bought my 20D with some lenses with me.
I am so angry.... But if everything goes right i am back in south africa for 3 weeks in october and then i'll take my dlsr with me, as one of our office worker will arrange for a safari for me in the krueger park by a park ranger.

here are some photos of the zoo and the lion park

the photos havent been adjusted in photoshop yet, as my work laptop isnt good enough for it.

Take you own car in. much better for taking pics :)

its going to be a special safari. a brother from one of our office staff in joburg is park ranger there and he will be my guide on the safari. so no other tourists, etc. :-)

Ah well live and learn I wish I had my DSLR with me on Tue, Rode past the Dorchester on the way to work and there was a Veyron parked outside...

Only one I've seen in the flesh (was going to take my camera in that day as well just thought it might rain and left it at home :( )

Needless to say it wasn't there on Wed

The lions (cubs and adults alike) look like they're having a right lazy time of it.

You'll be glad that you'd just bought the ixus 65 before you went and you'll have plenty opportunities for DSLR photo's on your private safari :)
