Sound (mostly) and Video problem
Since only yesterday running videos from my hard drive causes sound problems, the sound is via HDMI as is the Video, the sound laggs, like sometimes a word is said twice for example, but then the sound and video change so that the lip sync is ok again, so clearly if the lips are in sync and the audio laggs then the video is also lagging or jumping. It has happened on 3 different videos using Windows Media and VLC, Post Processing is off.
Due to the lagg, it even makes the mouse freeze and jump(to catch up) while the audio is lagging, then the sound might be ok for like 5-30 minutes and then lagg again, in processes I noticed audiodg.exe that I haven't before (although I may have just ignored it) and when closing the process.. of course, the audio stops until the video is re-opened, then the process automatically re-opens.
I also have the creative software installed and the process CTAudSvc.exe is running.
If I right click the video in VLC then the lagg is really bad, I did this just to see what settings were on like Post Processing and stuff... the CPU level goes high when the laggs happen too.
When viewing the resource monitor beside the video, the Hard Faults do go up when there is lagg, and it also goes up when full screen compared to smaller..
I changed the default devices from HDMI to Sound Card, and back again, and I also reset the PC, but it doesn't seem to solve the problem, nothing CPU or RAM intensive is running. Only about a 3rd of my RAM is taken up and even with audio lag the CPU % only goes up to about 20% for a second.
Also I noticed that I have a white noise coming from the speakers unless the output is muted or an actual sound is coming out, so to clarify when there is no sound, but the sound settings are on at any volume, there is a quiet white noise, this has been there since I got my PC. However today I noticed that when my PC is loading something with sound, even if not playing it, like loading a youtube page, then the white noise is even lagging and going silent for a split second before resuming, in pulses whilst something is loading.
Lagg also happens on youtube (just tested), haven't changed drivers in a few weeks, and have windows updates turned off, but updated 2 weeks ago due to a virus.
Any help? Is my graphics card failing?
