What's with the multiple bat-signal-esque swirly spotlights I've seen every night lately? North Portswod/Swaythling area. Saw them again tonight from Aldermoore.

Light pollution TBH. I bet it has something to do with students.

If it is, it's those scummy institute ones, the Uni is on Easter break still.

Can't say i've noticed any spotlights at all though.

The source of the lights is much closer to highfield than the solent uni.

And anyway, easter break? WTF is with that anyway? My housemates who are students at highfield have been off for 4 weeks. That's not an "easter break" it's a ****ing month off.

can see them from my kitchen window all the way from eastleigh at night.

See, this is what I'm talking about... When you first see them they have a certain 'wow-factor', but when you can see them from practicaly everywhere in the city every single night, they just become irritating. :/

As of next Friday i'll be free til October :p

Anyway, no sod came to the last one, only like 7 people turned up, only 3 of whom I think post on here still.

Sorry Off Topic

Before i ask this I just want to say that i graduated a while ago and the last time i went to southampton i was 3, but what is wrong with the students in your area? Do they cause problems?

We have a lovely new bar/club around here with a similar light every night. We had one previously that had a 6-beam rotating searchlight. Like a minigun that fires lights.

They're very annoying.

There form the Ventura Cruise liner. Parked up opposite Marchwood. Saw them from Hythe and then again back home in Totton

Speaking of Southampton, I had to go there last week for IT training.

WTF is with all the traffic lights in that goddamn town. I don't think I have ever seen as many in one road!!

The lights are there because of the new boat thats in dock. The lights are by the docks next to ocean village I can see them from my flat.

never realised one of the dons lived around winchester! im only about 3 miles south of winchester. the roadworks and traffic lights in southampton are crazy these days, about 6 sets in 1km, takes forever if u are unlucky
