Your fans today did you proud today.

Sadly this week one of the Crewe players suffered the tragic death of his newborn son. Over the past few days on various Southend fans forums etc spread the word that there would be a minutes applause in the 6th minute as a mark of respect.

Not only did all the fans join in on the day but many others passed on there condolences to the player.

I know that all the Crewe fans appreciated the response.

I think the football world is full of bad press, which everything kind of gets lost in. It's stories like this that remind you that it can actually bring a lot of people together as well.

Shame our players (and the ref) weren't that good.
