I don't understand Soy Sauce... does anyone actually think putting this stuff on food is a good idea?

Dark soy sauce gives food a lovely dark colour, the light stuff is for seasoning.
I don't see the issue? It adds colour and saltiness. How can that be bad. Perhaps your using a horrible variety or only tried from a washed up takeaway.
I go through about a litre every 3 months.

Yep you are odd, you need to change the way you think.
Nothing, he's scared/disgusted as its fermented. He's got a totally squewed mind set, but that's most of the population these days.
