SP games- buying 6 months late to save $ anyone else do it?

I have got so pee'd off with buying single player games on release at full price and then completing them in <20hr that i have now decided to wait for the price reductions at about 6 months.

Does anyone else do this or are do you impulse buy at release/preorder?
 
Most of my games are bought in Steam sale type offers, games with ridiculous prices usually involving a single digit price tag are the most fun to play.
 
There are games that you just know you will like (Skyrim being one) that i had no hesitation paying full price but other not so established games i will happily wait out!
 
I was so tempted by dishonoured and xcom but i waited for the reviews and both of the A+ games were completed in less than 20h @ >£20 was madness as far as i was concerned.

I have bought a few games in the steam sales, i really must get around to completing them e.g. darksiders 1.
 
Last game I bought day of release was BF2 + add ons when released & I still play it now a good few times a week if not more. Not bought a PC game since. :p
