Hi,

Looking to get a couple of used SP120's for my case at the front and then in the near future transfer them onto a H100i - was wondering which to go for, the PWM High Performance or Quiet Editions? I've seen a mixed bag on noise levels etc online, so am clueless right now - are the PE too loud?

Cheers

How have you setup your H100i fan profile?

The stock fans I'm using on mine idle at 450-550rpm and load at 1100-1150rpm. I cannot hear them at all!

Assuming yours is not far off the same, it doesnt matter which ones you go for, the results will be roughly the same.

I don't have the H100i yet, but looking to get one in the future - sorry should have made that clearer! So it doesn't really matter? I read the PE fans only do 1450-2350RPM though?

Cool, and does the H100i Software have a limit to what fan speed it will go up to - as in could I limit the PE fans to go to say 1800RPM?

Yes, you can create custom curve fan profiles to limit what speed they go up to. I've had mine set to idle at 700RPM and ramp up to 900RPM. Quiet and cools extremely well.

Cool, will probably get Performance one's then

Will echo that.

Using the stock fans on the H100i, idle is 400-450rpm and load is about 900-1100 - and I still can't hear them.

I got the Performance PWM one's for my H105 and when the PC first turns on they are loud for about 3 seconds and then the fan software takes over and I don’t hear them again. I was going to get the quiet ones but thought it would be better to have extra range if needed. If I was buying again I think I would just get the quiet ones as I don’t overclock and temps are good on low speed.

Well contrary to my original thoughts, I got some quiet edition PWM one's for a decent price lol - oh well, I'm sure they will perform well anyway!

I've got 4 performance edition on radiators and one quiet version exhausting at the rear. The quiet version full speed is as good as silent and with whatever the min my phobya fan controller turns them down to the pe are quiet except for when I crank them up for battlefield and then it's like a jet at take haha. I use turtle beach x12 so can't hear them anyway.

I think the H100i stock software is pretty useless tbh.

Been using the Aquasuite all the way, so I opted for H105 for the extra performance (hence much quieter than H100i) :)

But not everyone will get a decent fan controller so mehh :( (AQ 5 LT in my case)
