Ive downloaded SP2004 and am trying to run it to help overclock an Opteron 165.
When I run the program it opens the main window which offers, small FTs, large FTs and Blend. It also offers setting the infinity of 1 & 0.
I know there is another window behind the first one but no matter what I do I cant access it unless I close the first window.
If I start the first window with infinity set to 0 on small FTs, I still cant access the second window to run the second core on the CPU.
Do I need to run SP2004 as I would run Prime95 putting 2 seperate copys in 2 folders and using the config local switch. Or am I just not running it correctly?
Any help would be appreciated Tom.

Hi,

I just made 2 seperate folders for SP2004 (or Stress Prime) and launch each one seperately. Prime 95 you can run from one install by making two shortcuts and adding some switches (thanks to smids for making this info known)

Thanks Big.Wayne, Ill give it a go.
Ive managed to get this little 165 to 2.53 so far on 1.3v.
Im hoping itll get to 2.6 but want to give it a serious burn in.
It might be a 3.0Ghz chip but Im gonna take it steady and enjoy the fun along the way. :)

Hi,

I suggest using Prime95 over Stress prime. Stress Prime (SP2004) doesn't fully stress A64's because it is very old. The new Prime 95 v24.14 available from www.mersenne.org/freesoft.htm is written for A64's and multithreading and will actually stress the CPU properly.

Do as Big.Wayne said on the shortcut side of things. ;)

Cheers Smids,
Ive got to 2.6 but had to up the v.core to 1.325.
Its dual 32m SuperPi stable so Ill run it on prime for the rest of the day and see how it goes.
Im using a DFI NF3 Ultra D and since Im not sure about the boards limit Im using the x8 multi.
2.6 Cpu is 325 HTT which is what it would be at 3.0Ghz on a multi of 9.
Not sure if the chip will do that but it would be nice. :)

EDIT/ 334 HTT = 3.0Ghz on a multi of 9.
Gonna have to stop drinking Stella gives me a fuzzy head the next day.
