I got caught out a few weeks ago on the M606 leaving Bradford, there's a section that goes down to 50mph which somehow I completely missed. Looking back on Google maps I don't know how!

Anyway, how do I find out whether it was an SP30 or an SP50? I need to notify my insurer. I was caught doing 69 in a 50 and received 3 points and the usual £100 fine. The best bit was the header on the letter, designed to educate, not punish haha.

Cheers.

It's SP50.

You might be lucky I think that camera you were on about is not always on.

But your right there are plenty of warnings that its there :p

An easy way to remember is any road with streetlights is a default 30 limit unless repeater signs say otherwise.

Yea it's an SP50 :-/. Thanks. I just assumed that an SP50 would be getting clocked over the 70mph threshold.

Well that was a result, i had my renewal through when i was on holiday, £614 with my Kiwi wife who's had her UK license for just over a year, so i go on confused.com and comparethemarket and the cheapest quotes with an SP50 and a flood claim were coming in at £900, so i bit the bullet and phoned my insurer to tell them about the SP50, they run it through the system and return to tell me that it hasn't added any to the premium. I won't lie, i got a little excited :p
