No. SP50 = Speeding on a motorway.

Well I have just got my license back after sending it away for the additional points i have got and althought it was on a public road 30mph zone they have put SP50 on it !?

Hmm... better ring them up and sort this out.

And if you can get away with it due to a loophole or an administrative error, fill your boots and make the most of the oportunity to get off with it.

Totally agree !!

So what would your advice be on getting this void ?

Worthy post, good on ya ;)

OP: There is a chance you can get this voided but its more likely they will just correct their mistake :( Any chance to try and get away with it is worth a go tho.

There are times to suck it up like a man and others to be a slippery bas :p

so when i ring them up what would be the best way to word things..

"Hi you messed up my license, i broke the law but your admin sucks - can i have my 3 pts back and my £60 please ?"

? :D

You could ring them up and say "I have had a SP50 added to my license but I have never broken the speed limit on the motorway, can you remove it please?" making no mention of the other infraction or the money.

Sounds like a plan to me... will ring them shortly.

Pooperscoopers !

They are going to adjust the SP50 to an SP30..

BUT the shocking thing is I have to pay for the STAMP to send my license back to them !!

Grrr.

Whats worse on your insurance SP50 ro SP30? I would have checked that first :p?

Yeah maybe i should have but i would assume an SP50 is ?

Can anyone confirm this ?

Best i can find is this but it covers SP60's that are being dished out instead of SP30's. SP60 apparently on average give a greater increase in your premium. I can't find anything to suggest there is even a difference between SP30 or SP50, a LOT of people have them now days. The more popular (want of a better phrase) they are the less they should effect your premium i would imagine.

I think if i had to choose i'd rather have the SP50 i think, i'd rather speed on the motorway than in a built up area if you understand me? They may look at it that way? :Shrugs:

Thanks for your comments...

Too late now as I have contacted them - oh well lesson learnt whatever the hike in premiums.

Since it happened I have stuck to the speed limit... driving is now a bit boring but im sure ill get used to it and if it is safer for everyone then that has to be a good thing.

Cant help but feel guilty though on a big stretch of road which has a 30 limit which really should be 40. The queue of cars behind makes me feel like a twit (amend the letter "i")...

Hey ho..
