Behind you... Naked!
This is pretty smegging annoying, but I have only been able to install Space Marine onto one of my PCs

Forgetting about the legallity issues, I have absolutely no intention of being Illegal with the game, and I fully intend on buying more copies, just as I have done with every release of all of the entire Dawn Of War Series.

The thing is, that I have installed it onto my PC, and I have played it, as have my kids and we are utterly in love with it.

It gives us a kind of UT/DoW hybrid game and those 2 games we all love.

The thing is, that I have installed it onto my kids PCs to see how well it plays on my kids PCs, and sure its installed but it wont run?

I double click and the mouse changes but then it just quits

At first I have had a couple of DirectX errors but these are now resolved and now all the game does is ... Well, nothing. The mouse flickers a bit but the game doesnt load up fully and after a while it gets removed from the system... Even with Task Manager trying to show what its up to, it takes up 240k and then 2MB for a minute or so and then nothing.

It does this on all my kids PCs and I have also tried it on a knocked up spare PC... They all do the exact same thing.

Admittedly, a couple of the PCs are below the Minimum spec, but surely it should give the game a shot FFS? but the thing is that of the Kids PCs, the slowest is my youngest sons PC and thats an Intel 6550 in a EVGA 680 with 4GBRAM and a 9800GT so thats above Min Spec and yet that does the same too!

I had thought that maybe the Drivers and DX10 are not fully up to date, same with Windows itself, but again, everything is up to scratch.

What possible reason could it have for not running on the other PCs then?

Any clues will be gratefully received

Wow, of course.

Well, I threw Steam onto them and 2 have now worked, so cool on that.

One however has gone a step further, but failed on an ID error?

Bugger, I forget what the actual message was now?

Was it appId or userId? I will take note ( AGAIN ) when I next go to try it.

But yes, steam was a solution.

I am trying to NOT use Steam much, because I had a couple of issues some time ago with both Dawn Of war 2 and UnReal Tournament 3 in that I had them installed ( not through steam ) and then somehow, they seemed to get added to my steam account, but what had happened, is that since I have multiple copies of the game, and multiple serial numbers, the copy for the games were NOT the ones that I used in steam.

I may have made the mistake of course, but what basically happened was that I had 2 copies of both those games on my PCs and then Steam locked me out for piracy ( even though I have actually bought and paid for 5 copies of them - cos I play on the lan with my kids ( 3 kids plus my main PC and my game PC ) and it took steam 3 weeks to let me have my account back.

Im waffling arent I?
