Space PC Game

Can anyone suggest any fairly decent space shooting games for the PC.

I want to fly around shooting things, and have missions to complete...

Freespace 2 is pretty fantastic, and being open source it is available for free and is also constantly updated in terms of new enhancments. It's certainly the best Space Sim I've played in the last 10 years (I got it back in January).

I managed to pickup Freelancer and played it for like 25 hours... before I got bored and got some cheats.

The story was good, and thats the only thing that kept me playing the game - but the ending was a bit crappy.

Now time to find another game!
