Right oh, so hands down my favourite game so far!
Been tickling it for a while but decided to get serious with it the past couple of weeks and beat my friends scores.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/418650/

Personally i love arcade shooters and would really like to see some rime crisis style games in vr. The acuracy and movement is there so it makes sense!

So for anyone who has not heard of the game, you stand on a platform and take on waves of ball shaped drones (portal style robots). Put your hand over your back and pull it out to get a sheild (can be both/either hand). Roll your thumb around the touch pad to change firing style: single shot bullet, double shot burst, rapid fire, rail gun (needs to be held down to charged) and continous laser type thing (cross the streams or place one gun infront of the other for a bigger more powerful beam).
Options allow a graphic change, looks the same whatever and runs good too. Change crosshairs, these seem to light up green when you have a shot on target. Then you can change the angle that the guns fire, quite useful for fine tuning how you hold/use the controllers.

I tend to reach wave 12 or so from just spinning on the spot but since moving the vive into a bigger room i can go all john woo and pretend to be a total badass (yeah right!) which allows more movement to avoid being shot.
Went from getting 5-8k to 12k then jumped all the way to 20k by alternating tactics and sheilds etc..
20k was with single shot dual pistol swapping to sheild for some of the crazy waves.

Anyways, feel free to put your scores up here and have total bragging rights for being so awesome.

Still can't get to those dizzying heights of those scores but maybe with an upgrade to a bigger room I can avoid more shots :)

Still a lot of fun, easy to load up and have a blast

Yes I like this game but my fingers seem to get sore after half an hour or so! I didn't even know there were that many different firing types, I think I've only been using the 3-round burst. What sort of firing styles are people using to get those high scores?

A huge update today!
It has transformed from a demo to game, well almost.
Supersampling and AA options in menu is so good to have. Can add fog or take it away. Wave selection for 5 10 and 15. Classic and hardcore mode, party mode (i think this is what the game was originally)
New guns! A shotgun and a grenade launcher which is a bit of a game changer to clear clusters.
Bonus items, machine gun, a dome shield and a blackhole style think that pulls all the enemies together for easy shooting.
Different enemies too and the sheild can be switched to a baton than can work like a whip?! Not too sure on the benefits of that yet, just seemed to grab the ones that were about to shoot and then throw them.
So my favourite game on vr just got loads better, see what you early adopters think. Its great to see the visual settings appearing since it transforms the look and feel of the game.

Ooooo not played this for a while, loved it but not that good (managed wave ~20 I think) and still can't decide on best weapon combo(s).

Edit - must be a few before 20^ as this wave is the first boss.

I've been meaning to put some proper effort into this, and find out what gun combo I like best.

Usually start off with the rapid laser and then switch to the flak cannons (very good for the bosses) once I reach the wave with the sperm robots.

Managed to get to the second mini boss last night (huge robot with different sides/arms that act as different weapons - wave 25) and a high score of 69k* :D. Love this game!

*arcade mode.

Edit - For the first boss, wave 20, it's very useful to save a powerup for it. And start pummelling it as soon as you see it (side fins first and then its central eye). You basically want to kill it before it even fires its laser.

Nice score!! I enjoy the game too, but, just to drop into for a quick 10-15 minutes. I never spend long enough in the game to get good. I have never reached any of the bosses!!

Do you use the Turrets at all? I keep forgetting about them and find them awkward to use when I do remember them.

I have had this game for well over 6 months, but only started playing it properly and getting good in the last 2 weeks. Was in a similar boat, played for a few rounds and then moved on to another game.

Turrets? What!? I thought you meant the red powerup where a load of missiles come from behind to take out the current wave. Having a quick play at lunchtime I think!

lol, yeah there are 3 turrets, one to your left, one behind you and one above you on your right. You use the Voltron to charge them up, the voltron is the energy whip/cutter like thing.

Mind blown :o! Had no idea and I have used the laser whip thing about twice, trying to catch an enemy and smash it on the ground.

haha, report back after your lunch time game and let me know what you think :)
Was thinking to myself, what are they on about - three turrets? I can only see one - the rapid laser one, eventually realising the other two were different types. Fun to use but I haven't quite figured how to use them effectively with fast paced gameplay. I did however get a new high score of 88k :D. Strategy now is rapid lasers until around wave 12, flak canons until 2nd boss and then shield and flak after.

Edit - 115k on arcade now :). Lost 2 lives fairly early on so thought it would be over fairly quickly but hung on and got a couple of well timed power ups. A friend of mine says he quite liked the grenade/flak gun combo so might try that for high enemy count waves.

wow, great score!!

and, yeah, same for me, the turrets take too much time to setup and fire for them to be effective.
