You missed the point. Yewen was saying we had the same uproar when they said XP took up 2Gb of space, yet today nobody cares. Same will happen with Vista.Energize said:Clearly they do otherwise this thread wouldn't be here.
Magic_x_uk said:any idea of cost on this OS anyhow ? will there just be one version ? or like home / pro etc ? and will M-soft release a new version of Office for it ?

No matter how you look at it, 15gb is a massive amount of space. Hard disk space and Ram are hardly an issue nowadays anyway given storage prices, but still 15gb is a fair amount.
I'm one of those types who hates bloated programs and get pee'd off if something consumes a silly amount of ram/hd space when I can find a third party tool that can provide the same functionality. I'll still be getting Vista regardless anyway.

But as has already been said, it doesn't take up 15Gb of space, it just requires 15Gb of space before it will let you install.Kainz said:No matter how you look at it, 15gb is a massive amount of space. ZDNet said:That 15GB requirement is a reflection of how the new staged setup program for Windows Vista works. Vista’s predecessors, including Windows XP, perform a file-by-file setup. The staged installation copies a disk image containing a full, ready-to-run installation of Windows Vista, installs drivers for your hardware, migrates your data, and finally cleans up after itself.
