Spam email that won't unsubscribe

I keep getting tons of spam email, and have been on and off for a long time, from some mailing system in the US. At the bottom of this email is the small print for unsubscribing that all these particular emails have. That takes me to the page in the second screenshot. But on unsubscribing, nothing changes and I suspect it's not a single unsubscribe that gets rid of all the emails. I continuously mark as spam but they just keep coming. Drives me mad. Any suggestions?

I'm of the opinion a lot of these sites use this as a means of testing if an account is active rather that it being an actual unsubscribe button.

I'm just glad that gmail seems to have a decent filter!

Yup, you're not unsubscribing - you're letting them know that your email address is active and is worth spamming.

Sorry, but you're only going to get more from now on.

Saying that, that usually only applies to emails that are from [email protected] but this one does appear to be equally as dodgy.

This.
Not only does it show that your account is active, it also shows that you read through the emails and dont immediately delete them - that's very valuable for a spammer.
