I've already got no-ip on it, so it will always have a fixed point to connect to it on the net.

I have set up a secure FTP which works from anywhere, so I'm very happy with that. I have set up my website to backup the database to the FTP every nite too.

What else can I do with this little puppy? It's going to be left on 24/7, it's running a cut-down Windows 7.

Web proxy so you can access sites which may be blocked on what ever internet connection you are using (when away from wherever the netbook is of course) without having to worry about the security aspects of using a third party proxy.

On a similar theme, Logmein or SSH/VNC to give you a remote desktop with internet access available from anywhere.

Good idea! Have you got any recommendations for Windows proxy server software?

You could just install a Glype proxy and have it running off of IIS, but make sure to disable anonymous access to it.
Also, something I'd worry about is the reliability of a laptop being left on 24/7... are you making backups from the laptop to an external hard drive for example? The reason I'm saying this, is because laptops aren't really designed for 24/7 use and are therefore more prone to fail.

I can't use it for torrent, my net is only 2mb :(

I'm going to put logmein on it.

It should be fine 24/7, it's low power and pretty cool.
