So i have a PC which i had built for my father a few years ago but since he is no longer with us the PC will not be needed once all the important files have been backed up from the several internal and many external HDD's he had.

So, what i'm wondering is what could i use it for?? The system has a E2200 dual core, 1Gb HyperX DDR2-800 ram, x1650 graphics card, wireless card and a 400w or maybe 450w enermax PSU.

It of course have be placed anywhere as it has wifi although depending on it's use i may have it hard-wired into my router.

file server? or basic computer, it'd be alright for word processing or surfing the web and youtube, wouldnt be so good for games or HD media sharing with that gfx card ;)

That card would do ok for light gaming on the only spare monitor i have (1280x800) i suppose but then i have a much better system for gaming so no need for that.

A file server is a good idea although no idea what OS would be best/easiest to setup and use on it if i did go that route. Also not sure what space i'll have because i need to go through 5+ HDD's worth of data and decide what can be deleted and what needs to be kept then if possible try and put it all on 1 HDD.

I could get a cheap/small case and use it with my TV card as a PVR/HTPC in the living room although i aint sure how i would hook it up to my TV since it's a CRT with no vga or DVI connections.
