My mum has a spare windows 2000 server sat at work, being used as a display shelf for cd's atm. Does anyone have any ideas as to what it could be used as? Would it be possible to use it just as a storage device for photos or something?

Cheers guys :)

p.s. she works in primary schools incase that makes a difference.

Moved to a more relevant forum, where you will get a much better response.

In answer to your question thought, you can probably not do a lot mate without a IT person saying so from your LEA. You have a licensing issues and potential conflicts with existing network config.

mother has decided she wants the computer to be at work, as she doesn't want the monstrosity at home. The likelihood is that it will be used just as mass storage, as apparently the school has the license for the equipment. Would it just be a case of shoving in loads of HDD's?

Hardware wise yes, installation and configuration wise no, not very simple.

I would seek professional help mate.

General rule of thumb when envolving schools is speak to the LEA if the school doesnt have a dedicated IT team which Im guessing it doesnt as you are asking on here.
