well i came across this over at XSreviews and it seems like a nice step forword though it will mean new monitors for us all with our new cards when the time comes.
One thing i dont understand is this,

SPARKLE takes the lead in introducing DisplayPort interface into the SPARKLE GeForce 8800 GT DisplayPort Graphics Card with only one cable required, it is able to simultaneously transmit 3 1080p high resolution digital video streams and 7.1 surround-sound audio quality with 10.8Gb/s bandwidth.

By my workinng this means that if you want to run dual or triple monitor set up's your going to have to fork out for a trple headed Display Port lead or will monitor manufacturers take heed and build a daisy chain system for this... maybe also the ability to use quad monitor set ups on a single card with the use of the Hdmi port aswell!
Also looks like GRFX/audio combo cards will be the standerd soon?

Here is the origanel article here

Proberbly just me running behind the times then lol still dont understand how they are getting around three streams on a single lead though

can someone explain DisplayPort in 1 scentance... including the advantages over DVI, and how it links with HDMI and HD TV's?

Cant they intergrate HDMi and DP so they used the same port?

No, because HDMI is licensed. And DP is a cheaper replacement for HDMI and it is exactly the same thing technically apart from it's license free.
So there's no point to integrate DP with HDMI. And I'd say, DP has brighter future.
