as title tbh, looking at investing £150-£200 a month into a new savings account/isa. I'm looking at putting it in for about a year before i need to remove it. I currently bank with alliance and leicester, ideally i dont want to have to open a new bank account to obtain a savings account.

Your best bet would be to look on here:

I have just opened an ISA and got all the info I needed from that site. As per your second point, I had to pay with my Visa debit card (i.e. an opening balance), they then sent out some literature which I had to sign and return, and on receipt of that they formally open the account (and backdate the interest to when you initially made the deposit). Not really much fuss and bother, and the interest rate is good. I think you need a certain opening balance for the one I signed up for but there are other ISAs which don't require this, although the interest rate may not be as favourable.

Hope that helps :)
