I currently have a Sony STR-DN1050 Amp and the Onkyo surround sound speakers that were bundled with my original Onkyo amp connected by the original cables that came with that bundle (fairly certain it was this unit).

I have just purchased a set of each of Q Acoustics 2010i for the rears, 2020i for the fronts and 2000ci for the centre.

As I am going to be changing the room this is all setup in I thought it made sense to consider changing the speaker cables at this point as it should allow me to get better cable and also to get it run into place before all the furniture is in the room.

I have had a quick look and it talks about strands and AWG and other stuff and so I just do not know what to get.

I think I will want about 20-25 metres in total, 1m for the centre, 2m for each of the the fronts and about 6-8 metres for the rears (all depends on routes).

Any advise on what I should be looking for, not wanting to spend a huge amount but also not a skinflint.

Trying to decide whether to go for the B-Tech BT77 as mentioned above or the Q Acoustics 2000WB mounts for the 2010s.

You would think the official ones would be a no brainer but some reviewers suggest when angled left/right and down they look weird. Then if I change speakers I would also have to change the mounts.

Thoughts?

Psycho - Can you advise on the movement you get with the BT77s. What sort of left/right movement do you get and is there any up/down movement?

sorry for the long wait.

I have them angles slightly downwards a few degrees and left right movement is pretty much free. I have one angled pretty much all the way to the left and the other one slightly to the right.

They are superb for the money. Can upload pics if you want?

Hi Thanks, think I am getting them for Christmas now anyway so not to worry :)

Bumping this as I need to ask a probably rather silly question. I'm wanting to replace the speaker cable I bought from ebay as it has no markings on it to distinguish it between black and red plus I want something decent that I know isn't a fake. This was mentioned on the previous page but I can't work out if one role would cover 2 speakers and that's all I need or if I'd need to order one roll for each speaker. If this does 2 speakers then 5m is too long so would need to look at a smaller role. Mock if you want at my dumb question :p

That is a single roll of 10m. You could do as many speakers as you want by cutting it. It could do 10 speakers if you only need a metre length or 2 speakers if you need 5m length, etc.
