Chaps,

Recently purchased my 03' plate Clio Dynamique after putting my 96' Punto up for sale.
I had an ok'ish ICE system in the Punto, which I fully removed.
Included was the JBL 12" 1202 sub, Alpine MRP-F240 360 W amp, Alpine 180 W 6x9 Speakers, and a cheapy Kenwood headunit.

In the Clio, I decided I only want the sub going in, and to sell on the head unit, amp and speakers as I dont fancy churning up the parcel shelf on the lovely fresh Clio :p

However, what speaker components are highly recommended?
Also, what am I looking for if I desire nice sound quality, Dash or Door speakers, or both?...
I'm guessing Alpine Type-R, but anything specific? I have an installer lined up, also an amp in mind and new Alpine CDE head unit ready to go.
Literally the speakers are all I'm unsure about, with wiring kit all in place too.

Any recommendations are appreciated :)

Thanks,

Pete.

^^ as above

i personally have some infinity kappa components which consisit of seperate tweeter and woofer, with a sub in the back. gives excelent sounds and i highly recomend them. (i also own a clio btw)

get yourself over to www.cliosport.net its for all clios not just sports :)

nah dash is fairly simple :) 13 screws and remve the a pillar covers then it pulls of.

once youve done it once you can do it a million times :)

Thanks lads.

Russ, what spec is your Va Va?
Also, any brand or wattage you recommend, even a full component kit maybe, searching in the dark a bit here?

As I said, fitting is no problem, I won't be doing it myself as there's a very well priced ICE shop in the next town, Kettering actually so all this will be included in their standard installation fee :)

Tar guys,

Pete.

my clio is a 1.2 expression+, is fairly loaded with features, aircon, heated mirrors, electric mirrors etc only thing it didnt have is alloys but thats soon been sorted :)

i got these components in my car (from this seller) id recomend him hes excelent, delivery was next day and is they are a top notch product. In halfords you get the model down from these for the same price and their is a vast difference in sound quality between the two. As said before though alpine components are also superb quality.

Alloys look nice dude :) They the 16's from the 172?

So you recommend those speakers, how easy where they to fit in yours, did you do it yourself?

Excuse the ignorance, but you only get 2 speakers in there, right? :p
Is that enough for nice balanced sound?
Add me on msn if you want fella.

Cheers,

Petey.

Added you matey :)

In reply to your post thought, yeah i fitted the speakers myself but I am an electrician for a living so that tends to give me a bit of head start really. I found them fairly easy to fit, the hardest part was fitting the tweeter in the dash board as you have to pull the dash off, but other than that wasn’t too bad. Main woofer is really easy to fit.

In the components pack (the ones I linked to above) you get the following

2xWoofers
2xTweeters
2xCrossovers

The crossovers are brilliant, they split the high and mid frequency’s e.g. all the treble goes to the tweeters and the mid and bass to the woofer :)

Any more questions feel free to ask me on msn or if im not online just pop me another message on hear or email me :)

P.s. The alloys are froma renault laguna, as standard they come fitted with some big chunky tyres and they looked awful but rapped in some low pro tyers they look great in my opinion and are really unique, not seen another clio with them...yet :)
