Hi folks, my old 2.1 Creative speakers have virtually given up the ghost now (their volume goes up and down intermittently but mostly stays quiet - obviously the amp in the sub is knackered because connecting my Sennheiser HD555 headphones directly to the line-out on my Creative X-Fi sound card gives me perfect sound). I've decided to replace them either with AE Aego Ms or JBL Creature IIs (in Darth Vader black )
I'm going to listen to a friend's Creature IIs tonight because I read here and elsewhere that they have very little mid-range and I want to be sure, but my main concern is this - can I listen through headphones without physically unplugging the speakers from the soundcard and plugging the headphones in? I am right in thinking that neither of the speaker setups I have selected have a headphone jack on them aren't I?
Can anyone suggest a workable solution, or am I going to be fiddling around at the back of the PC every time I want to swap?
Any advice gladly appreciated ta
