Speaker for the Office...

I am considering picking a speaker for our office which we will share for music over Christmas. The office is around 8m x 6m and has 8 people in.

The difficulty I am experiencing is deciding on exactly what it shall be.

I already have a full SONOS household, so would consider picking up a cheap/2nd hand/refurb PLAY:1, but the issue for me would be that it would be ethernet controlled, so we would need a central repository for music as we don't have internet access; so this would likely need a SONOS application on a central machine to control the playlist?

My second choice would be bluetooth, but this would mean playlists would be impossible to create as it would just be audio-warfare fighting for control.

Any other options out there?

Any Bluetooth speaker, linked to a tablet/Surface running Spotify should do the tick - at least people can just walk up to the tablet to pick something else.

You'll never get a general consensus on the music though, it will be like office aircon :D
 
Ikea Eneby 20. It's a pretty nice sounding bluetooth (and line in) speaker. Not enormous. Reasonably priced at £45. Can have a battery pack installed (£15) or be mains powered.
Or you can go for the Eneby 30, but that's mains only and quite a bit bigger and more expensive.
