hey all
i recently had my DFI nf4 replaced with an ASUS nf4 motherboard. the motherboard was replaced due to only having the right speaker outputting sound. now the ASUS has exactly the same problem. the DFI only started having problems when I started using the 5.1 zalman headphones (also from OCUK, bought very recently). The ASUS now also only outputs sound to the right hand speaker , nd yet all I have used is the headphones (before the problem started). This leads me to think that the zalman headphones are breaking the green output sound (which is also the front speakers in 5.1 mode) on the motherboard.
Ive had 2 DOA asrock boards, a DFi ultra-d with faulty chipset fan, a DFI with faulty speaker output, and now my Asus A8N-SLi SE nForce4 SLi is only outputting to the right and speaker just like the DFI did (the front sound on my pc case works fine). The sound was fine for the 1st few days, but now only sound comes out of the right hand speaker on the headphones. i have tried my hanns-g 19inch screen speakers and the motherboard is definately at fault, and I think this fault is being caused by the zalman headphones. Whilst the problem isn't killing the pc i do want it resolved, and I am at Uni at the mo so can't take the motherboard back to the shop until xmas, and by then the board is over 28days old etc etc so I only get a B grade replacement? please help me, this is my 5th fauly motherboard, PLEASE help me tech staff
EDIT: my receipts are at home so don't know order number so havn't emailed tech directly and my room phone at Uni is disconnected. the DFI was bought a few weeks before the headphones, and the ASUS replaced the DFI a few days after the purchase of the headphones
thanks!!
