Speaker size confusion

I need to replace the speakers in the rear parcel shelf of my 306 as they have gone, for want of a better word, 'farty' sounding.

AFAIK I need to fit 16.5cm speakers but after a trip down to my local Halfords and having a confusing time trying to work out what I need I just wanted to confirm what size I do infact need.

There seems to be very little choice in 16.5 cm but more of a selection at both 16 and 17cm's, infact the couple of online audio places i've tried don't even seem to have any 16.5cm's

Can any one shed any light on this? I had a look on the Halfords website and they have a pair of Infinity speakers that would be ideal, as I don't need anything flash, for a bargain £19.99 but they are out of stock online and instore they are £59.99

Can anyone put me on the right track for a cheap set of speakers that will screw straight in? They only need to be as good as the standard onees.

Thanks

In old money they were all 6.5" at that size so that's probably where the confusion is. Just ask for six and a halfs and they should know what you want.
