Here is an inexpensive mod for anyone already running desk speaker stands.

I've added some speaker spikes to my existing Gear4Music stands. The Gear4Music stands have M6 bolt holes where normally a rubber foot sits. I have removed the rubber feet and replaced with some speaker spikes.

What improvement did I notice.

The spikes have helped decouple the stands from the desk, this is after already running foam under the speakers. The result is tighter bass, less desk resonance and more precision and accuracy in the sound. The spikes are height adjustable so I can fine adjust the speaker levels also.

Forum rules I can't link, but picked these up for just £14 from the popular e commerce website.

PS The speaker is rotated 180 degrees, this allows the speaker to be raised further from the desk reducing resonance and vibration with it's surface, I then rotate the speaker 180 degrees to realign tweeter back to listening position.

Some photos.
