Hey guys,

As above. I suspect it's software more than hardware but I keep getting annoying little sound glitches coming from my phone's speaker... I can listen to music for hours and it's fine and then you end a call or whatever and you hear the glitch :(

Trouble is, no one else appears to be suffering with it. Is there a test app that will confirm once and for all either way?

Thanks.

Is it momentary or does it continue constantly once it happens? most phone sound hardware only has so much RF/EMI hardening and can be seriously affected by activity on the radio transmitter - when you end a call for instance usually there is a burst of transmission handing off which will momentarily distort sounds playing, etc.

If the phone's processor is under high utilisation it can also spike interference into the sound hardware - no real way around that without more expensive circuitry in the phone than most phone manufacturers would be willing to do.

That's exactly what it is! Where you there? :D

It's really annoying! Almost every time you end a call. There are few other times it happens but it's not consistent enough to put my finger on... anything I can do?

Was trying to determine if it was just a short glitch or permanently affects the sound once it happens until you restart - if it permanently happens once it has started it might be a software issue if it just happens in short bursts then there isn't much you can do except hook the phone upto an external DAC which has good RF filtering which obviously isn't an option if you are using the phone on the move.

It generally only happens after a call, when you've hung up. Normally phones just make a beep or whatever, heard though the earpiece. The glitch sound I hear is heard through the phones speaker. Regular sound/audio playback is fine.
