Speaker wire help?

I broke off one of the speaker wires for my dads speakers.

I would like to replace them and clean them out.. because as you will see they are right old and bloody well dirty. I would like to know what the wires are called and what kind of wire I should buy... the distance is only like 0.5m/1m so nothing too long and I would like to know how to install the wires as well since I haven't really had a long enough look at it.

Just scroll through using next/ 1,3,2, etc..

I know but I thought that better quality wire meant better quality sound?

OK sure. Do you know any videos of it being installed? To avoid confusion.

So does that mean the hifi and cable are really good already? It must be pretty old because there certainly aren't any reviews!

Also there are barely any QED 79s on sale on ebay for a good price.

My dad is slightly an audiophile.. I don't really know where the definition of the audiophile stands but he can hear minute differences and always moans about stuff when I rip using 320 instead of FLAC. or hes just a troll

No I mean like banana plugs, what are they and should I use them? Do I just lift the spring then put all the copper stuff underneath and let go of the spring?
