Hey,

My logitech X-240 speakers give a buzzing sound from time to time but its beginning to become more frequent.

The buzzing is not noticeable during games or films but when browsing and no sound is being played, the buzzing is quite noticeable.

Is there any way to stop the buzzing?

The other problem the speakers have is very, very strange to say the least. When I leave the speakers on when the computer is off, the speakers play some Austrian radio station. and I can hear opera from time to time.

Any ideas on why that is happening?

Sorry but I genuinely lol'd at this. Your speakers are picking up EMI (and Opera singers) which could be due to a number of things. Have you tried moving the speakers away from any power source and ensuring the audio cables don't cross over with your PSU cable etc? I would even connect the speakers on a separate power source (if they need one). They are picking up EMI from somewhere so I would try and move them away from the PC and just run a normal cable into the audio out jack to see what happens.

Lol

do you sing along to it.

The buzzing could be the drivers for your sound card. Or the cable not plugged in properly

sorry to lol, but LOL.

on my first pc, an old TINY brand with a dial up connection, if the speakers were on and someone made a call on the house phone we could listen in on the conversation. was great fun till my house mate overheard his sister(who lived with us for a while) talking to her boyfriend.....wont go into the conversation details on a family forum, but he was not impressed :p:p

My logitech speakers do the exact same thing :D

Although I usually pick up some christian radio channel. I found the easiest way to avoid this was to turn up the speaker volume louder on the speakers themselves, then turn down the system volume to compensate. Only seems to do it for me when the speakers are at a low volume.

I used to have a problem like that, i think from memory I stoppped it by muting everything other than the main volume in windows audio control (eg line in, mic etc)

If it's cables picking up signals (we don't know if it is though) then changing the cable length may help. Or at least get a different station. lol.
