Speakers for £50-60

Looking to get some new speakers to replace the cheap stereo setup that I have. I know £60 is not a lot to spend but am I better off buying a cheap 5.1 setup like the Creative T6060s or spending £50 on a 2.1 setup like Creative I-Trigue T3330? What do you think, they will be running of AC 97 onboard sound but I will be getting a soundcard in the future.

For under £60 I'd go with a set of 2.1 Harman Kardon Creature II's. I have had a set of 2.1 Harman Kardon Soundstick II's for nearly 2 years and am still very happy with them.

. However did you notice a big difference between having stereo speakers and 5.1s? What soundcard have you got?
