speakers for console

hey guys, intending to get a speaker set for my current ps2 console.
is a 5.1 setup really needed? i play games like final fantasy, princes of persia and racing games.

would like got get a quite powerful setup, but not too expensive though, have no budget in mind yet..

what speakers would u guys recommand?

How are you planning on outputting sound from the console?

For 5.1 on ps2 you have to use the optical output, iirc.

oki thanks, but is 5.1 realli needed for games on ps2? or a powerful 2.1 setup would be better?

Ps2 doesnt support real time rendering of dolby 5.1 only in cutscenes in a few games like ffx and ffx-2 and mgs. Id just get a 2.1 setup.
