speakers for imac?

I recently ordered myself an iMac and can't seem to find if they come with built in speakers or not?

if they do, are they any good? im not one for really listening to anything up loud so if they come with decent build in speakers it might save me a few quid on a 2.0 or 2.1 system

I have a pair of Bose Companion 2 V2 Speakers. Had them for a few years so not sure if you can still get them. Great set of speakers. Definitely a big step up from the built in speakers. Picture here

The speakers in the new iMac are very good and have more depth than the previous models (i have the 27") but if you what a good set of 2.0 have a look at the B&W MM-1

Got these about 6 weeks ago when they first came out and WOW the sound is so clear and precise, this set blows everything out of the water with out breaking a sweat.

They're very much near field speakers though (ie. best if you're sitting in front of them), I don't know I'd spend that much for that. They're very good but twice as good as, say, the tuefel concept 2.0 set?

I had a look at these speakers before i got the MM-1, but it was the design that put me off and I didn't like the box either, I wanted a set that i could just plug in and it would work.

Another set i had a look at was the Bose music monitor speakers and these sounded good too.

The internal ones are great. I however use Acoustic Energy AEGO M's as I already had a set lying around.

The speakers on my 21.5" iMac are okay, but they seem to lack level of a base a decent set of 2.1 speakers have. That said, they are fine for normal use and I believe the 27" iMac's speakers are even better.

Another vote for the AEGO M's - it's crazy how good those little 2.1s are.
